FAQ and your installation of JSEAsy software

JSEAsy is a windows based program that can be run on your Mac if you use third party software such as Parallels Desktop for Mac

JSEAsy is powered by Microsoft Access 2016. Unfortunately it is the only Office product that Microsoft have not made a Mac version.   The majority of our Mac customers have put Windows on their Mac and run Windows and Mac operating systems simultaneously using a third party software like Parallels Desktop 13 for Mac.  With Parallels you can easily switch between your Mac and Windows desktops.

While convenient these options require you to purchase a license for Windows and have Windows running on your system.

Another option is to Install JSEAsy on a PC if you have access to one in your office or home.

The JSEAsy Cloud Hosted version can be accessed from a MAC

JSEAsy supports: Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1., Windows 10

We do not normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision.
You can choose between a refund, exchange or credit where goods are faulty, have been wrongly described, are different to the product purchased on the website or doesn’t perform as advertised.

JSEAsy is compatible with a Microsoft Office 32 and 64-Bit Versions.  Our default installation is the 32-bit version so if you are running a 64-bit version of MS Office, you will just need to download a Free 64-bit program file and replace this one file after you have run the installation.

JSEAsy utilises the Microsoft Access database engine. If you have Microsoft Access 2013 or later as a part of your Office installation, it will run the JSEAsy software.

If you do not have Access as a part of your office installation, you can download and install Office 365 Access Runtime for free.

If you are not using Microsoft Access you can uninstall it from your system for Office 2010 and earlier. You can then  download and install Office 365 Access Runtime for free.

Full and detailed instructions for installation along with a user guide are provided with the purchase. There are information icons on the different section of the software. When you click on them, it will take you to the corresponding page in our JSEAsy Learn and Support section.  We are here to help as well so you can contact us for any help you may need with installing and setting up the software. Unlimited phone support is available for rental customers and Premium support cover customers.  We can also do remote shared screen support via TeamViewer.

Different versions of JSEAsy may be used on a stand-alone PC or a network of multiple PCs, where one of the PCs is utilized as a “server” for JSEAsy. JSEAsy will also run on Windows Terminal Server. The requirements listed refer to either a stand-alone PC, or to each PC in the network that will be running JSEAsy.

YES

The file used by JSEAsy to print your letterhead/logo on plain paper is a JPEG file, Letterhead.jpg, which you may create yourself or TotalTrack Pty. Ltd. can do it for you. The file is limited to 47mm high by 192mm wide
Create the file and name it, “Letterhead.jpg” place in C: JSEAsy and replace the existing file.

To create a jpg file of your letterhead, it is best to use a publishing software package. We use Adobe Indesign, but a lot of people have Microsoft Publisher. You will need to set up a page that is 47mm high x 192mm wide. From there insert your logo and text.

Some people have just pulled up their letterhead and then taken a snip screenshot and used that. This will work but the quality will not be very good.

We can create this file for you. Just send us a copy of your letterhead along with electronic copies of your logo and we will create the file and send it back to you.

The letterhead and other pictures not displaying correctly is associated with Access Runtime 2016. In most instances after the PC has done it’s automatic updates, an office 2016 update KB…. has fixed the issue.  Please try going to windows update and checking for the latest update.  After downloading and installing all updates, check to see if the issue has been resolved.

I had one customer who it took a few days for the update to come in and fix the issue. Others have fixed it straight away. If the problem persist, I have had two instances where running a registry repair resolved the issue.  Registry First Aid did the trick.

Another work around this is to go to the control panel Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsPrograms and Features and uninstall Microsoft Access Runtime 2016. From there the work around this is to install Microsoft Access Runtime 2013 and make sure you install the AccessRuntime_x86_en-us.exe version.

There are two common 32-bit and 64-bit error messages:

Error Message:
We can’t install the 32-bit version of Office because we found the following 64-bit programs on your PC:

Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component 64-bit Registration
Please uninstall all 64-bit Office programs, then retry installing 32-bit Office. If you want to install 64-bit Office instead, please run the 64-bit setup

And

“This database created with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access. Please open it with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access”.

See here for full descriptions and how to overcome the issue

In Windows 10 Right click on the desktop and then click on display settings. From there change the size of text, apps and other items to 100%

Basically, if you have a high resolution screen at install time, Win7 will install a larger font set (125%) by default. If you then choose go back to the standard font size (100%), Windows will keep some of the large fonts even though everything else is adjusted for standard fonts, causing programs that use these fonts to break because the text will not always fit inside the GUI.

Under your Microsoft licence agreement, you can change from a 64-bit version to a 32-bit version at no cost.

The process is simple and only takes a few minutes. Detailed instructions on how to change Office versions be found here

Depending on the security setting on your PC you may encounter a Microsoft Access Security Notice.

Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source file is untrusted.

This file might contain unsafe content that could harm your computer.

This is the default stance from Microsoft. If:

  • The program has not been put in a trusted location
  • MS Access or Access runtime has recently been updated

. We know where this file came from, so you will need to let you PC know that that it is trustworthy.
